James M. Gocke

Jim Gocke is a founding member of the firm. Practicing primarily in commercial real estate, small business and estate work, Jim serves clients from around the country- Jim has assisted numerous clients in complex real estate matters, tax deferred exchanges, governmental approval for development and Tenant in Common ownership of real estate.

Jim maintains the philosophy in his practice of serving the client for a lifetime, not just one transaction. His dedication to client needs and an eye on the "bottom line" has earned him the respect and loyalty of his clients.

Jim brings a background of farming, teaching and small business to the practice. His background gives him the ability to relate to clients of all levels and specialties. This has also served him well in his many civic endeavors, serving in leadership roles for the Ankeny Rotary Club, the Bondurant Lions, the Ankeny Chamber of Commerce and others. Jim has served on numerous community boards and currently serves as a Board Member of the Polk County Aviation Authority and the Valley Bank Advisory Board.

A graduate of the University of Nebraska and the Drake Law School, Jim has been a member of the Iowa State Bar and the Polk County Bar since his admission to practice.

Jim and his wife, Kathy, have 3 grown children and 1 grand-child. Jim enjoys his time away from his practice, golfing, fishing, hunting and woodworking. Jim is also part of the investor group that owns the Iowa Barnstormer Arena Football team.
